Case IH 19766 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): Group error path Air control – Error belonging to group air control – P20A7 Compressed air regulation valve

A malfunction in the compressed air regulation valve circuit within the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, indicating the valve is failing to operate correctly, has an electrical fault, or is experiencing a plausibility error.

   Verify Active Status: Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the in-cab display to confirm if the fault is currently active or stored in history.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the DEF dosing unit and the compressed air regulation valve for physical damage, cracked air lines, or severe corrosion.

   Wiring and Connector Check: Disconnect the harness at the compressed air regulation valve and the DCU. Inspect the pins for pushed-back terminals, moisture, or corrosion.

   Electrical Testing: Test the wiring harness for continuity between the valve connector and the DCU. Test for a short to ground or a short to power (12V/5V reference) on the valve's signal and supply circuits.

   Air System Leak Check: Ensure the machine's main compressed air system is building and holding pressure properly, and check the specific supply line to the DEF dosing unit for leaks or blockages.

   Depressurize the System

   Turn off the machine and allow the DEF system to complete its purge cycle. Safely bleed any residual air pressure from the machine's compressed air system.

   Isolate the Fault

   If the wiring harness tests show an open or short circuit, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Replace the Valve

   If the wiring harness and connectors are in good condition and the air supply is verified, the compressed air regulation valve itself has failed internally. Disconnect the electrical connector and air lines, unbolt the valve, install the new valve and torque to OEM specifications, then reconnect lines and connector.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Turn the key ON, use the EST to clear the 19766 / P20A7 fault code from the DCU. Start the engine and run an SCR system test or allow the machine to reach operating temperature to verify the DEF dosing system activates without triggering the code.
