Case IH 1979-19 - UCM – UCM: Aux Valve 6 Port Flow Command - Received Network Data In Error

The vehicle controller has lost communication with or is receiving invalid data from the Pilot Head on rear remote valve #6.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector plugging into the #6 rear remote pilot head for pinched wires, rubbed insulation, or corrosion.

   Perform a swap test by exchanging the pilot head from remote #6 with a known good pilot head from another remote (e.g., #4 or #5) to isolate if the fault is in the wiring/UCM or the pilot head itself.

   Ensure the spool inside the valve body is not physically sticking or worn, which can cause the pilot head to throw secondary errors.

   Relieve Pressure

   Ensure the tractor is off and hydraulic pressure is relieved from the rear remotes.

   Remove the Pilot Head

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the #6 pilot head. Remove the four mounting screws (typically M5 x 20mm hex socket screws) securing the pilot head to the valve slice.

   Clean and Inspect

   Clean the mating surface on the valve body. Inspect the 100-150 micron filter screen and replace it if contaminated.

   Install New Pilot Head

   Install the new pilot head using a new O-ring/seal kit at the interface. Torque the mounting screws to spec.

   Reassign and Calibrate

   Access the tractor's diagnostic menu (often referred to as the 'H menu') or use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) diagnostic plug to assign the valve and run a calibration routine so the UCM recognizes it.
