19795 (DTC F89F)

Case IH 19795 (DTC F89F) – Engine Control Unit (ECU / EDC) or Vehicle Control Module (VCM): SCR Inducement: Level 3 (creep mode), triggered by DEF/AdBlue Consumption fault

Issue description

The system has detected that the DEF/AdBlue consumption is irregular or too low (Reagent Consumption fault). Because this root issue was not resolved during the initial warning phases (Level 1 torque reduction), the system has escalated to a 'Level 3 Inducement,' forcing the machine into 'creep mode' (a severe engine speed and torque derate) to prevent operation while emissions are non-compliant.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • Case IH Maxxum series tractors
  • Case IH Magnum series tractors
  • Case IH Steiger series tractors
  • Case IH Patriot Sprayers (e.g., 4440)
  • Case Construction N-Series Loaders
  • Case Construction Crawler Dozers (e.g., 650L)

Check the cause

  1. Check DEF quality and level to ensure the tank is filled with uncontaminated, ISO 22241-compliant 32.5% DEF/AdBlue.

  2. Inspect the DEF injector (dosing valve) nozzle for crystallized urea buildup that restricts proper spraying.

  3. Check for leaks and pressure issues in the heated DEF lines, seals, and tubes.

Repair steps

  1. Identify the Root Fault

Use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to pull the accompanying root fault code (e.g., DEF pressure too low, DEF dosing valve blocked).

  2. Address Crystallization/Clogging

If the DEF injector is clogged with crystallized urea, clean the mounting boss and replace the DEF doser injector.

  3. Address Supply Issues

If the system cannot build pressure and no leaks are found in the lines, replace the DEF Dosing Module (Supply Pump).

  4. Clear the Inducement

Once the defective component (injector, pump, or line) is replaced, clear the root fault code using the diagnostic tool. The Level 3 Inducement (19795 / F89F) is a symptom-based code and will automatically clear or become inactive once the ECU verifies that normal DEF dosing and consumption have resumed.
