Issue description
The machine's emissions control system has detected a condition that it interprets as an intentional bypass, modification, or severe malfunction of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. This triggers a Level 1 Inducement, enforcing an automatic engine torque reduction (limp mode) to restrict machine performance until the emissions system is restored.

Check the cause
Check DEF/AdBlue Quality: Verify the concentration and purity of the DEF. Poor quality, diluted, or degraded DEF will cause the system to fail emissions targets, which the ECU can flag as a tampering fault.
Inspect the DEF Dosing Valve: Check the DEF/AdBlue dosing injection unit for crystallization or blockages (Fault code 19817 is frequently triggered alongside this code).
Check Exhaust Temperature Sensors: Inspect the downstream oxidation catalyst temperature sensor. If the voltage is higher or lower than expected (often accompanied by codes 19826, 19810, or 19811), the system will not dose DEF correctly.
Inspect for Emulators/Defeat Devices: Physically inspect the SCR wiring harness and CAN-bus lines for any aftermarket 'defeat devices' or emulators designed to bypass the DEF system, as these will directly trigger tampering codes.
Repair steps
Resolve the root cause
Based on the diagnostics, remove any aftermarket emulators, replace faulty temperature sensors, or clean/replace a blocked DEF dosing valve. If the DEF fluid is suspect, drain the DEF tank, flush it, and refill it with fresh, high-quality DEF.
Perform an Inducement Validation Restart
Once the physical repair is made, perform a full power restart to allow the ECU to validate that the SCR system is dosing correctly and emissions are within spec.
Clear the Inducement Timers (EST Tool)
If the tractor remains in torque reduction (limp mode) after the physical repair and restart, connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop. Navigate to the engine controller and perform a step-by-step reset to clear the three inducement timers/resets, which will command the engine out of limp mode.
