Case IH 19809 (F-519644-31) - ECU – Engine Control Module (ECM) / Aftertreatment Control Module: Inducement Validation Restart mode activated (full power restart for inducement validation)
Issue description
This is an informational or status code indicating the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) / Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system has entered a temporary validation mode. It allows a full-power restart after an emissions fault forced an inducement state, so the system can run its internal monitors and validate whether the underlying emissions issue has actually been resolved.
Applies to these machines
8 machines- VESTRUM CVX
- Magnum
- Magnum 380 CVX AFS Connect
- Steiger/Quadtrac
- Optum
- Puma
- Farmall
- Farmall 40-45-50 CVT
Check the cause
Connect your diagnostic tool and check for other active or recently inactive SCR/DEF fault codes (e.g., 19817, 19797, 19798) that caused the initial inducement.
Verify that the DEF/AdBlue tank is adequately filled with fresh, high-quality fluid.
Ensure that any previously replaced emissions components (like NOx sensors, DEF dosing valves, or supply modules) are properly connected and calibrated.
Repair steps
Address and repair the root cause of the initial SCR/DEF inducement
Repair the underlying issue (e.g., replacing a faulty DEF doser, fixing a blocked line, or draining bad DEF).
Start the engine
The system will initiate the 'Inducement Validation Restart mode,' temporarily restoring full engine power.
Operate the machine
Run the machine under normal working load and temperature conditions to allow the ECM to run its emissions monitors.
Allow the validation cycle to complete
If the root cause was successfully repaired, the ECM will validate the fix, code 19809 will clear automatically, and full power will be permanently restored.
Verify validation success
If the root cause was not fixed, the validation will fail, code 19809 will clear, and the tractor will revert to an active SCR Inducement state (logging codes like 19787 for Level 1 torque reduction or 19788 for Level 3 creep mode).
