Case IH 19907 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Error in comparing energizing time to maximum value for injector in cylinder 1
Issue description
The ECU detects that the required energizing time for the cylinder 1 injector has exceeded the maximum programmed tolerance. This typically indicates that the injector is worn, clogged, or mechanically failing.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- Tier 4b
- N-Series Loader Backhoes
- Steiger
- Magnum
- Puma
- Axial-Flow series
Check the cause
Check for other active codes related to fuel pressure, battery voltage, or injector short circuits (under/over voltage monitoring errors)
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the cylinder 1 injector for high resistance, corrosion, or partial shorts
Check fuel filters and fuel water separator to ensure the fuel system is not restricted
Verify adequate fuel supply pressure to rule out fuel starvation
Use the CNH EST / EASy diagnostic tool to perform a cylinder contribution test or injector kill test on cylinder 1
Repair steps
Clear the Code
Clear the fault code using the diagnostic tool and run the engine at low idle to see if the ZFL monitor resets the code.
Replace the Injector
If the code returns, the fuel injector for cylinder 1 is outside of its mechanical tolerance and must be replaced.
Program the Trim Code
After installing the new injector, use the CNH EST diagnostic tool to enter the new injector's trim code (IQA/QR code) into the Engine ECU.
Zero Fuel Calibration
Run the engine at low idle to allow the ECU to perform a new Zero Fuel Calibration (ZFL) and learn the new injector's energizing time.
