Case IH 1991-09 - UCM – UCM: Aux Valve 7 Port Flow Command
Issue description
The pilot head for the #7 rear remote auxiliary valve is experiencing communication failures. A faulty pilot head can short or disrupt the network, effectively killing CAN bus communications and causing the module to reset unexpectedly.

Check the cause
Verify that the #7 pilot head is the root cause of the network disruption
Physically unplug the electrical connector to the #7 pilot head. If the pilot head has failed internally and is taking down the CAN bus, unplugging it will allow the rest of the remote valves and communications to come back online immediately
Repair steps
Locate the #7 pilot head valve assembly
Locate the rear remote valve stack and identify the #7 pilot head valve assembly.
Unplug the electrical connector
Unplug the electrical connector to the #7 pilot head to verify CAN bus communications are restored.
Remove retaining hardware
Remove the retaining hardware (such as the M5 x 20mm hex socket screws) securing the pilot head to the valve body.
Remove the faulty pilot head
Remove the faulty pilot head valve assembly.
Install the new pilot head
Install the new pilot head valve assembly and secure the hardware.
Reconnect the electrical harness
Reconnect the electrical harness.
Run hydraulic valve calibration
Run the hydraulic valve calibration procedure via the tractor's display so the UCM can learn the new pilot head.
