Case IH 2014 – TRANS (Transmission) Controller: Switch 4 / 5 error (not used)

Fault Code 2014 is officially designated as 'Switch 4 / 5 error (not used)'. It is often confused with code 2111 (FNR Neutral Switch high Voltage fault), which means the controller is receiving a voltage signal above the expected threshold, typically indicating an open circuit, a disconnected sensor, or a wire shorted to power, preventing the system from verifying if the transmission is safely in neutral.

   Verify the diagnostic display to confirm if the active code is 2014 (Switch 4/5 error) or 2111 (FNR Neutral Switch High Voltage)

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the FNR pod to the transmission controller for severed wires, corroded connector pins, or rubbed insulation causing a short to power

   Remove the neutral switch and test resistance with a multimeter (should read near 0-1 Ohm when depressed; 300+ Ohms indicates a faulty switch)

   Ensure the switch is threaded to the correct depth and not sitting too high due to excessive gaskets or distance washers

   Park the machine on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the FNR neutral switch on the transmission housing or the FNRP pod.

   Unthread and remove the switch from the transmission housing.
