Case IH 2035 (518375.15) - DEC – Transmission Controller (Transmission ECU / TCU): Dump Solenoid - short to 12V / short to high voltage / circuit fault

The control module has detected an electrical fault in the transmission dump solenoid circuit. Specifically, the voltage returning to the controller is higher than expected, indicating that the wiring harness is shorted to a 12V power source, shorted to ground, or the solenoid's internal coil has failed and shorted out.

   Check for related codes 2036 (Dump solenoid - open circuit) or 2505 (Clutch A pressure not plausible) which point to the same circuit

   Inspect the dump solenoid connector (X-358, X-226, or X-955) for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals

   Test the wiring harness between the transmission controller and the dump solenoid connector for continuity to ground or a short to a 12V power source

   Measure the resistance across the pins of the dump solenoid to check for an internal coil failure (dead short)

   Locate the Solenoid

   Find the transmission control valve block (usually located on the side of the transmission housing). Identify the dump solenoid (often grouped with the Clutch A/B solenoids or the 19th gear dump solenoid).

   Prep the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the valve block to prevent dirt or debris from entering the transmission hydraulic circuit.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Disconnect the electrical harness. Remove the retaining mechanism holding the solenoid in place (this is typically a retaining pin, snap ring, or small hex bolts depending on the valve block design).

   Extract the Valve

   Carefully pull the dump solenoid straight out of the manifold bore.

   Install the New Solenoid

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean, approved transmission fluid (e.g., Case IH Akcela Nexplore). Insert the new solenoid into the bore and secure it with the retaining pin/bolts.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Calibration

   Clear the fault codes from the Transmission ECU. Because a transmission control component was replaced, you must perform a transmission/clutch calibration procedure via the tractor's display or diagnostic tool to ensure proper clutch engagement and pressure mapping.
