Case IH 2047 - UCM – Transmission Controller (TCM) or UCM (Universal Control Module): Clutch pedal switch set too high

The control module has detected that the signal voltage from the clutch (inching) pedal potentiometer or switch is out of range on the high side. This typically happens when the switch is physically misadjusted, the sensor has failed internally, or there is a short to power in the wiring harness.

   Check Calibration: Verify if the clutch pedal position potentiometer is correctly calibrated. The fault can trigger if the pedal was not fully released during a previous calibration attempt.

   Inspect the Switch Mechanism: Check if the clutch pedal switch is physically sluggish or sticking, which is a known issue particularly in cold weather.

   Check Adjustment: Verify if the clutch pedal switch is adjusted correctly at the pedal base.

   Harness Testing: Test the wire harness running from the transmission controller to the clutch pedal position potentiometer. Look for an open circuit or a short to power.

   Access the Pedal Assembly

   Locate the clutch pedal switch/potentiometer at the base of the clutch (inching) pedal.

   Adjust or Clean

   If the switch is simply out of adjustment or sticking, adjust the switch bracket and clean the mechanism.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring tests good but the voltage remains out of range high, remove the faulty clutch pedal switch/potentiometer and install the replacement part.

   Recalibrate

   After installing the new switch, you must recalibrate the clutch pedal position potentiometer via the tractor's H-Menu or diagnostic tool. Ensure the pedal is fully released during the calibration process.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the fault code from the TCM/UCM and test the inching pedal operation to ensure smooth engagement without jerky movements.
