Case IH 2048 - UCM – UCM / TRANS: Clutch pedal switch set too low

The switch is either physically misadjusted or internally shorted. The primary symptom of this fault is that the tractor will perform normally, but the clutch pedal will fail to cut off power to the clutch solenoids when depressed.

   Inspect the clutch pedal switch to see if it is physically misadjusted.

   Disconnect the switch from the wiring harness.

3. 3

   Using a suitable multi-meter, test the switch to see if it functions correctly (check for continuity and ensure there is no internal short circuit).

   Check the bottom of the clutch relay to ensure it is not stuck or short-circuited.

   Adjust

   Attempt to adjust the clutch pedal switch to the correct height/setting.

   Replace

   If the switch is adjusted correctly but the code persists, or if the switch fails the multi-meter test, the switch must be replaced.

   Remove

   Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the faulty clutch pedal switch.

   Install

   Install the replacement switch and adjust it correctly.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the wiring harness.

6. 6

   Test

   Turn the ignition on and test the tractor to verify that the clutch pedal now successfully cuts off power to the clutch solenoids. Clear the fault codes.
