Case IH 2057 – Transmission (Trans) ECU: Voltage from Shuttle lever Rev switch too high
Issue description
This fault indicates an electrical issue or mechanical binding within the Forward/Neutral/Reverse/Park (FNRP) pod or shuttle lever. The system is receiving an invalid or conflicting signal—specifically, the switch inputs are indicating that the shuttle lever is in multiple positions at once (e.g., both forward and neutral, both reverse and neutral, or both forward and reverse simultaneously). The Transmission controller registers the reverse switch voltage as being too high, usually pointing to a short to +12V or a stuck internal switch.

Check the cause
Cycle the shuttle lever vigorously through all positions (Forward, Neutral, Reverse, Park) to free up potentially stuck internal micro-switches.
Perform a directional test by trying to drive the tractor in the opposite direction of the failed state to see if the Transmission ECU recognizes the change and clears the conflict.
Inspect the wiring harness leading from the FNRP pod to the Transmission ECU for wires rubbed bare and shorting to a +12V power source, or for a damaged connector.
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical spikes.
Access the FNRP Pod
Remove the plastic cowling/covers surrounding the steering column or the armrest multicontroller (depending on where your shuttle lever is mounted).
Test the Switch
Disconnect the electrical connector at the base of the shuttle lever. Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the reverse switch while moving the lever. If the switch shows continuity (closed circuit) when the lever is in Neutral or Forward, the internal switch has failed.
Check for Shorts
With the lever disconnected, turn the key to the ON position and probe the harness-side connector for the reverse signal wire. If it reads +12V, you have a short to power in the wiring harness that must be traced and repaired.
Replace the Lever
If the wiring is sound but the switch is failed, unbolt the shuttle lever assembly (FNRP pod) from its mounting bracket and install the replacement unit.
Reassembly and Calibration
Reconnect the harness, reinstall the covers, and reconnect the battery. Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's instrument cluster menu, and test drive to verify forward and reverse engagement.
