Case IH 2070 – Transmission Controller (ATC / DCU), Armrest Controller, or FNRP Pod: Shuttle lever forward switch - voltage too high.

The forward switch input from the FNRP (Forward/Neutral/Reverse/Park) pod or gear selector is shorted to +12 Volts or is shorted to the FNRP pod's 5-Volt reference circuit. The system is detecting an abnormally high voltage signal when the lever is placed in the forward position, preventing the transmission from safely engaging forward travel.

   Swap the electrical plugs on the forward and reverse solenoids (and pressure switches) on the transmission. If the problem moves to the reverse direction, the issue may be a solenoid rather than the switch.

   Check the magnetic toggle switch on the shuttle lever. On some models, small magnets glued to the bottom of the stick activate the shifting circuit; ensure these haven't fallen off or become misaligned.

   Check the wiring harness for the 4th speed switch (RH side of the transmission) and the shuttle lever. Look for wires that are rubbing together, shorting out, or packed with mud.

   Turn the key on and listen for the directional relay in the RH dash to click. Ensure the relay has not backed out of its socket (a common issue on older models like the 5130/5240).

   Remove the Steering Wheel

   Carefully remove the center cap and the retaining nut, then pull the steering wheel off the steering column.

   Remove the Steering Column Covers

   Take off the plastic cowling/covers surrounding the steering column to expose the gear selector assembly.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Locate the wiring harness connected to the faulty shuttle lever/gear selector switch and unplug it.

   Remove the Assembly

   Unbolt and remove the old gear selector switch assembly from the column.

   Install the New Switch

   Mount the new shuttle lever switch in place and secure it.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the steering column covers, and reattach the steering wheel.

   Test

   Turn on the machine and cycle the shuttle lever from forward to reverse several times to ensure the fault code is cleared and the transmission engages properly.
