Case IH 2074 – Transmission Controller (Trans): FNR Not Park Switch low voltage fault

The voltage signal from the FNR (Forward/Neutral/Reverse) 'Not Park' switch inside the FNRP (Forward/Neutral/Reverse/Park) Pod is falling below the expected threshold, typically caused by the switch input circuit being shorted to ground or having an open circuit.

   Inspect the FNRP pod on the operator's armrest/console and the wiring harness running to the transmission controller for visible damage, chafing, or pinches.

   Disconnect connectors at the FNRP pod and transmission ECU to ensure they are fully seated, pins are tight, free of corrosion, and in the correct position.

   Use a multimeter to test the FNR Not Park switch circuit for continuity to ground (to check for a short) and end-to-end continuity (to check for an open circuit).

   Turn the key to 'ON' and monitor the shuttle position display on the instrumentation cluster while shifting the FNRP lever to check for illogical states (e.g., Forward/Reverse icon lit while physically in Park).

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the Pod

   Remove the necessary trim on the armrest/console to access the FNRP pod assembly.

   Disconnect Harness

   Unplug the electrical harness from the FNRP pod.

   Repair Wiring

   If your multimeter tests in the diagnostic phase revealed a short to ground or an open wire in the harness, repair or replace the affected section of the wiring harness.

   Replace the Pod/Lever

   If the wiring tests good, the internal switch of the FNRP pod has failed. Remove the mounting hardware and replace the FNRP pod assembly or the specific FNR lever component.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical harness, reinstall the console trim, and restore battery power.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the fault codes using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or cycle the key to see if the active code clears. Test the tractor by shifting through Forward, Neutral, Reverse, and Park to ensure normal operation and verify that the code does not return.
