Case IH 2075 – Transmission Controller / Electronic System ECU: No signal from flywheel speed sensor
Issue description
Indicates 'No signal from flywheel speed sensor'. This can be triggered by no usable signals when Engine RPM is greater than 300, frequency being too high, signal periods being too short, calculated torque exceeding calibrated peak torque by more than 25%, or damper angle being below 50 degrees or above 85 degrees.
Applies to these machines
7 machines- Maxxum
- Steiger series
- Puma series (140, 180, 210)
- Magnum series (180, MX210, MX285)
- MXM Maxxum series (MXM120, MXM130, MXM135, MXM140, MXM155, MXM175, MXM190)
- Farmall series (40, 45, 50 with CVT)
- T8 series (T8.275, T8.300, T8.330, T8.360, T8.390)
Check the cause
Check for related fault codes (such as 2076, 2077, 2079, and 2124) that might pinpoint a wiring issue rather than a failed sensor
Verify operating conditions with the operator to confirm if an engine overspeed condition occurred, which can trigger this error
Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the flywheel speed sensor for physical damage, open circuits, or shorts to ground/voltage
Repair steps
Locate the Sensor
Locate the flywheel speed sensor (also referred to in parts catalogs as the crankshaft speed sensor or RPM pulse sensor) on the engine block/bell housing.
Inspect Connections
Disconnect the sensor harness. Clean the connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-back terminals.
Test/Replace the Sensor
If the wiring harness tests good (no open or short circuits) but the controller still registers no usable signal (or a frequency error) when the engine is cranking/running above 300 RPM, the sensor has failed internally and must be replaced.
Calibrate the System
After installing the new sensor, clear the fault codes. If fault code 2124 ('Flywheel speed sensor not calibrated') appears, you must perform a transmission/flywheel sensor calibration using the tractor's H2/H3 diagnostic menu or electronic service tool.
