Case IH 2094 – CCU: Low Power HSD Short to Ground

Fault code 2094 indicates a short circuit to ground on a low power High Side Driver (HSD) circuit. The fault is specifically detected at Connector 1, Pin 5 (cn1-5) of the Chassis Control Unit (CCU), meaning the circuit's wiring or the driven component has shorted to the chassis or ground.

   Verify that the fault code 2094 is still present and in an active state.

   Use the electrical schematic to locate the CCU and specifically Connector 1, Pin 5 (cn1-5).

   Disconnect the harness at the CCU and the component end, then use a multimeter to test the wire at cn1-5 for continuity to ground.

   Inspect the specific low-power component driven by this circuit to ensure it has not failed internally and shorted to its casing or ground.

   Isolate the fault

   If the multimeter shows continuity to ground on the wire while both ends are disconnected, the wiring harness is chafed or melted and touching the chassis. If the wire is fine, the short is inside the connected component.

   Repair wiring

   If the harness is damaged, locate the chafed section. Splice in a new section of wire using OEM-approved weather-sealed crimp connectors, or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace component

   If the wiring tests good but the component shorts out when plugged in, replace the affected component.

   Clear codes

   Reconnect the CCU and the component. Turn the key on and verify the fault code changes from Active to Inactive or clears entirely.
