Case IH 2094 – Transmission Control Module (TCU / TRANS): Low Clutch not calibrated
Issue description
The transmission controller has lost the calibration values for the low clutch pack's fill time and engagement pressure, or a calibration procedure was interrupted/failed. Without these values, the transmission cannot smoothly engage the low clutch, which can lead to harsh shifting, delayed engagement, or a complete failure to shift into gears utilizing the low clutch pack.

- Magnum
- Puma
- Steiger
- MX series
Check the cause
Ensure the transmission/hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and at operating temperature (above 50°C / 120°F).
Look for active codes related to the low clutch solenoid (e.g., 2357, E40, E41) or transmission speed sensors.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission control valve block for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion at the low clutch solenoid connector.
Verify that the tractor's battery voltage is steady, as low voltage can cause the TCU to drop calibration memory.
Repair steps
Warm Up the Tractor
Operate the tractor until the transmission fluid reaches normal operating temperature.
Prepare for Calibration
Park the tractor on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and ensure the engine is running at the specified RPM (usually a high idle, as prompted by the dash display).
Enter Calibration Mode
Access the transmission calibration menu (often referred to as the H-Menu or accessed by holding the upshift/downshift buttons while turning the key on, depending on the model).
Select Low Clutch Calibration
Navigate to the clutch calibration section (e.g., "H6 LOW CLUTCH QUICK FILL").
Execute Calibration
Follow the on-screen prompts. The TCU will automatically pulse the low clutch solenoid to measure the time it takes to fill the clutch pack and the pressure required to engage it. You may need to hold the clutch pedal or shift buttons as directed by the display.
Save and Clear
Once the display indicates a successful calibration, turn the key off for at least 30 seconds to save the values to the TCU's memory. Restart the tractor and clear the inactive 2094 fault code.
Mechanical Troubleshooting (If Calibration Fails)
If the calibration repeatedly fails, you likely have a mechanical issue. You will need to pressure test the low clutch circuit to check for internal hydraulic leaks (worn clutch seals) or replace a sticking low clutch solenoid.
