Case IH 2113 – Transmission controller: Axle oil pressure low fault - Axle lube oil circuit
Issue description
The axle lube oil pressure switch has not indicated pressure 1.5 seconds after start-up. The switch is designed to close at 0.55 bar (8 psi), and failure to do so triggers this code.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- Steiger T4B
- STX Steiger
- Steiger Quadtrac
Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the axle lube oil pressure sensor and the ECU.
Ensure the connectors are fully connected, not damaged, the pins are in the correct position, and that the fit is tight.
Check for continuity between the pressure sensor and the ECU to rule out an open circuit or short circuit to ground.
If a wiring issue is found, repair or replace the wiring as required. If the fault code is no longer present after fixing the connection, return the machine to proper operation.
Repair steps
Locate switch
Locate the axle lube oil pressure switch on the axle housing.
Disconnect and inspect
Disconnect the electrical harness from the switch and perform the visual and continuity checks mentioned above.
Verify switch failure
If the wiring harness is in good condition and continuity is verified, the fault is likely a failed pressure switch that is stuck open or unable to read the 0.55 bar (8 psi) threshold.
Remove faulty switch
Unthread the faulty axle lube oil pressure switch from the axle circuit.
Install new switch
Install the replacement OEM pressure switch and tighten to specification.
Reconnect harness
Reconnect the electrical harness.
Clear code and verify
Clear the fault code using the tractor's diagnostic display (accessed via the "PROG" and up/down arrow keys on the A-post) and start the tractor to verify the code does not return after 1.5 seconds.
