Case IH 2198 – ACML: ACML wrongly configured

Issue description

The Armrest Control Module (ACML) has lost its proper configuration parameters, has been programmed incorrectly, or is failing to communicate its configured state to the tractor's main controller network.

Applies to these machines

  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Maxxum Series (115, 135, 145, 150)
  • Puma Series (150, 220)

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the Armrest Control Module was recently replaced, as new modules require initial configuration.

  2. Access the tractor's Universal Controller (U1) / display monitor (such as the H1 menu screen) to check the current calibration and configuration status of the armrest components.

Repair steps

  1. Access Universal Controller

Access the tractor's Universal Controller (U1) via the cab display.

  2. Navigate to calibration menu

Navigate to the H1 menu (or equivalent configuration screen) to perform the calibration procedures for the electronic modules.

  3. Reconfigure ACML

Reconfigure the ACML to match the tractor's specific installed options (e.g., EHR, PTO, advanced steering).

  4. Replace and reprogram ECU

If the ACML refuses to accept the configuration or fails to save the parameters, the physical ECU module is likely defective and must be replaced and reprogrammed.
