Case IH 2223 – ZDC: Transmission Lubrication Oil Pressure Sensor Short to Power

Issue description

A short circuit between the sensor's feed line and the vehicle's 12-volt supply, which forces the voltage above normal limits.

Applies to these machines

  • Steiger T4B
  • Case IH Puma CVX
  • Case IH Maxxum CVX

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Transmission Lubrication Oil Pressure Sensor for pinched wires, damaged insulation, or areas exposed to moisture and road debris.

  2. Examine the sensor and module connectors for corrosion or water intrusion.

  3. Check the ZDC module for internal failure misinterpreting sensor feedback or commanding an over-voltage.

Repair steps

  1. Repair or replace wiring harness

Repair or replace any section of the wiring harness that has damaged insulation or is shorting to a 12V power source.

  2. Clean or replace connectors

    Clean or replace corroded connectors.

  3. Replace sensor
