Case IH 2257 (519184.17) - DEC – DEC: Synchro M Solenoid LSD short to GND

Issue description

The Low Side Driver (LSD) circuit for the Synchro M Solenoid is shorted to ground, meaning the wiring or the solenoid itself is shorted directly to the chassis ground, bypassing the module's ability to control the circuit.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness between the control module and the Synchro M Solenoid for chafing, pinched wires, or melted insulation that is allowing the wire to touch the machine's metal chassis (ground).

  2. Test the Synchro M Solenoid for an internal short to its own casing.

  3. Check the control module's pins for internal shorts.
