   Verify if the fault is currently present and active using a diagnostic tool such as the Case IH Electronic Service Tool E.A.Sy.

   Disconnect the ECU/module connector and check for voltage on the ground circuit at the specific pin for the Synchro M Solenoid low side driver (there should be no voltage present).

   If voltage is present on the low side pin while disconnected, identify the short to a high voltage source in the solenoid's circuit.

   Test the wiring harness to see if there is 0.5 ohms or less of impedance between the solenoid signal wire and a power source.

   Turn the key to the OFF position.

   Ensure the machine is powered down before inspecting the wiring.

   Trace the wiring harness between the DEC module and the Synchro M Solenoid to locate the shorted conductor.

   Visually and physically inspect the harness for damage or shorts.
