Case IH 2263 – ZDC: ZDC - CAN message DispDrivetrainStateDes checksum incorrect

A CAN communication error indicating the ZDC is receiving a CAN message named DispDrivetrainStateDes with an incorrect checksum. This means the data packet was corrupted during transmission over the CAN bus (due to electrical interference or wiring issues) or there is a software mismatch generating an invalid calculation.

   Check power supply to the ZDC, specifically fuse F-101 (5 A)

   Inspect the CAN High and CAN Low wiring harness between the Display/Cab monitor and the ZDC for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins

   Check for software mismatches between the tractor's Display monitor and the ZDC

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read all active and logged fault codes to see if other CAN modules are also dropping messages.

   Inspect the Fuses

   Locate the fuse panel and test fuse F-101 (5A) for the ZDC. Replace if blown, but investigate for shorts if it blows repeatedly.

   Harness Inspection

   Disconnect the harness at the ZDC and the Display. Inspect the connectors for moisture, pushed-out pins, or corrosion. Clean with contact cleaner and securely reconnect.

   Software Update (Flash)

   Using the Case IH EST, check the software calibration levels of the Display and the ZDC. Flash both modules to the latest compatible OEM software versions to resolve any checksum calculation errors.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the fault codes and operate the tractor's drivetrain to verify if the code returns. If the wiring is perfect and the software is up to date but the code persists, the ZDC hardware may be failing and require replacement.
