Issue description

The system has detected that the EGR Valve Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit is shorted high. The voltage signal from the differential pressure sensor to the control module is higher than the normal operating range, indicating a wiring short or a failed sensor.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the EGR Valve Differential Pressure Sensor.

  2. Check the differential pressure sensor wires and connectors for visible damage, rubbing, or corrosion.

  3. Test the circuit to verify if there is a 'short to high' voltage condition in the wiring harness between the sensor and the ECM.

Repair steps

  1. Locate sensor

    Locate the EGR Valve Differential Pressure Sensor on the engine.

  2. Inspect connector

    Disconnect the sensor and inspect the connector pins for damage or moisture.

  3. Repair wiring

    Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors that are causing the short to high voltage condition.

  4. Remove sensor

    If the wiring and connectors test good, the fault lies within the sensor itself. Remove the faulty EGR Valve Differential Pressure Sensor.

  5. Install sensor

    Install a new sensor and reconnect the wiring harness.

  6. Verify repair

    Clear the fault codes from the ECM and run the engine to verify the code 2273 does not return.
