Case IH 2286 (683.19) - DEC – DEC: CAN 2 - DisengDrvlReq Error

The controller is receiving erratic, invalid, or missing data over the CAN 2 network regarding the command to disengage the driveline.

   Check for associated codes on the CAN 2 network to rule out a broader network issue like a shorted bus

   Inspect the CAN 2 wiring harness and connectors between the DEC and main vehicle controllers for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins

   Verify the current software version of the DEC using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power before servicing the electrical system to prevent short circuits.

   Locate the DEC

   Find the Driveline Electronic Controller, which is mounted on the hydrostatic housing.

   Harness Inspection

   Disconnect the harness connectors to the DEC. Inspect the pins for damage or corrosion. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.

   Circuit Testing

   Using a digital multimeter, perform a continuity and short-to-ground check on the CAN 2 High and CAN 2 Low wires between the DEC and the central controller. Repair or replace the wiring harness if an open or short circuit is found.

   Software Flash

   Reconnect all components and restore battery power. Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). If the wiring is intact, check for software updates. Reflash the DEC with the latest software version (e.g., v1.8.0.0).

   Test Operation

   Clear the fault codes and test drive the tractor. Engage and disengage the driveline/PTO to verify the code does not return.

   Module Replacement

   If the wiring is perfectly intact, the software is updated, and the code persists, the DEC itself has likely suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.
