Case IH 2363 (520444.12) - DEC – DEC (Driveline Electronic Controller): Driveline unit - RAM Error
Issue description
A RAM error indicates an internal hardware or memory failure within the control module. Code 2363 specifically indicates a clutch calibration failure, while 520444.12 indicates a configuration error.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- MAXXUM T4E
- VESTRUM CVX
- Case IH Puma 180-260 CVX
- Case IH Magnum 235-340 (Series 4)
- Case IH Steiger AFS Connect / STX Steiger
- Case IH Vestrum 110
Check the cause
Perform a power cycle check to rule out temporary voltage spikes or software glitches causing the RAM error
Inspect wiring and grounds for damaged or loose machine earths and connector pins at the DEC
Check the harness for debris or water intrusion, which can short the module and cause memory faults
Verify if the transmission will accept a clutch calibration procedure via the diagnostic tool
Repair steps
Stop the machine
Stop the machine and turn off the engine.
Perform a hard reset
Switch off the battery disconnect switch (or disconnect the battery voltage). Wait 1 to 2 minutes to allow the DEC capacitors to discharge completely.
Restore power and calibrate
Restore power and turn the key on. If the RAM error (520444.12) clears, attempt to perform a transmission clutch calibration to resolve the 2363 code.
Inspect connections
If the code remains active, physically disconnect the harness from the Driveline Electronic Controller. Clean the contacts and verify that the module is receiving proper voltage and ground.
Replace the Module
If the wiring is intact but the RAM error persists, the internal memory of the DEC has failed. The Driveline Electronic Controller must be replaced and reprogrammed/calibrated by a dealer.
