Case IH 2364-03 - BCM – BCM: Work lamp #11 - short circuit to B+

The control module is detecting unexpected voltage on the Work Lamp #11 circuit, indicating that the power supply wire for this specific lamp is shorted to a constant 12V power source, or there is an internal short within the module/wiring harness.

   Consult the operator's manual to identify the exact physical location of Work Lamp #11 (cab roof, fender, grille, or extremity light).

   With the tractor keyed off and the work light switch in the OFF position, disconnect the connector at Work Lamp #11. Use a multimeter to check for voltage on the supply pin. If 12V is present, the wire is shorted to battery positive somewhere in the harness.

   Trace the wiring harness from Work Lamp #11 back to the Body Control Module (BCM). Look for pinch points, chafing, or melted insulation where the lamp's wire might be rubbing against a constant hot wire.

   Check the BCM connectors and the lamp pigtail for water intrusion, corrosion, or melted pins that could bridge the circuits.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent further electrical damage.

   Isolate the Short

   Disconnect the harness at both the BCM and Work Lamp #11.

   Test the Harness

   Perform a continuity test between the Work Lamp #11 supply wire and other known B+ (battery positive) wires in the harness.

   Repair Wiring

   If a short is found in the harness (often near cab hinges, roof passthroughs, or tight bends), open the wire loom, locate the fused/chafed wires, splice in new wire using weather-resistant heat-shrink butt connectors, and re-loom the harness.

   Inspect the Lamp

   If the harness tests fine, inspect the work lamp itself for internal failure. A melted internal diode or board can sometimes cause feedback. Replace the lamp assembly if it is internally shorted.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the BCM, the work lamp, and the battery. Turn the ignition on, clear the inactive 2364-03 fault code via the AFS Pro display, and test the work lights to ensure the code does not return.
