2364 (522818.12) - DEC

Case IH 2364 (522818.12) - DEC – Transmission Control Unit (TCU): Driveline unit - MMP A\D 1 converter error

Issue description

Fault code 2364 indicates that a specific clutch (Even Clutch or 1F coupling) is not calibrated. The MMP A/D converter error indicates an internal electrical fault or microprocessor failure where the Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter inside the control unit is reading out of range or failing its self-test.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Case IH Magnum 235 - 340 (Series 4)
  • Case IH STX Steiger tractors (350 to 600 horsepower)

Check the cause

  1. For Code 2364 (Clutch Calibration): Verify if the transmission has recently been serviced, if the battery was disconnected, or if the tractor requires a routine transmission calibration.

  2. For MMP A/D Converter Error: Check the DC millivolt readings on the sensor signal lines to ensure they are not out of range (e.g., negative values or exceeding maximum voltage thresholds), which can trigger an A/D conversion error.

  3. For MMP A/D Converter Error: Verify the sense voltage and excitation voltage at the control unit. If the sense voltage is disconnected or incorrect, the A/D converter can drift out of range.

  4. For MMP A/D Converter Error: Check the TCU for external electrical damage or poor ground connections.

Repair steps

  1. Address the Calibration (Code 2364)

Initiate the transmission clutch calibration procedure via the tractor's display monitor or dealer diagnostic tool. Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate the Even Clutch / 1F coupling.

  2. Inspect wiring harness

Address the Microprocessor Fault (MMP A/D Error): Inspect the wiring harness connecting the driveline sensors to the TCU for shorts or open circuits.

  3. Diagnose TCU internal failure

If the wiring is intact and the sense/excitation voltages are correct, the fault lies within the TCU's internal microprocessor (ROM/RAM failure or A/D converter hardware failure).

  4. Replace TCU

Replace the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) / Controller PCB, as internal microprocessor A/D failures are generally not field-repairable.

  5. Program and calibrate new TCU

Flash/program the new TCU with the correct machine software and perform a full transmission calibration.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Transmission Control Unit (TCU) / Controller PCB

Must be ordered specific to the tractor's serial number and requires dealer programming upon installation.
