2365 (522821.12) - DEC

Case IH 2365 (522821.12) - DEC – Transmission Control Module (TRANS): C1-2 Clutch not calibrated

Issue description

The transmission controller has lost the stored engagement calibration values for this specific clutch pack, or a recent calibration procedure was interrupted or failed to complete successfully.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Case IH Magnum 235 - 340 (Series 4)
  • Case STX Steiger tractors (350 to 600 HP)
  • Case IH Puma series

Check the cause

  1. Check for active solenoid faults (such as codes indicating the C1-2 clutch solenoid or its wiring has failed open or shorted to ground) which will prevent calibration

  2. Verify the transmission hydraulic fluid is at the correct level

  3. Ensure the transmission oil is warmed up to operating temperature before attempting calibration

Repair steps

  1. Prepare the Machine

Park the tractor on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and ensure the transmission fluid is at normal operating temperature.

  2. Enter Calibration Mode

Access the transmission calibration menu through the tractor's A-post display, Pro 700/1200 monitor, or via the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST).

  3. Run the Calibration

Initiate the automated clutch calibration sequence. The transmission controller will systematically engage the C1-2 clutch (along with the others) to relearn the fill volume and engagement point.

  4. Monitor the Process

Follow all on-screen prompts (which may require you to adjust engine RPM).

  5. Clear Codes

Once the calibration successfully completes, cycle the key switch. The 2365 fault code should change from active to inactive and can be cleared from the TRANS module memory.

  6. Hardware Troubleshooting (If Calibration Fails)

If the C1-2 clutch repeatedly fails to calibrate, you must physically inspect the C1-2 clutch proportional solenoid, the transmission wiring harness for shorts/opens, and verify hydraulic pressure to that specific clutch pack.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • C1-2 Clutch Proportional Solenoid

    Fitment: Magnum/Steiger Powershift Valve Body

  • Transmission Wiring Harness

  • C1-2 Clutch Pack Assembly / Seals

Required only if internal hydraulic leakage prevents the clutch from calibrating
