2369-07 - BCM

Case IH 2369-07 - BCM – BCM: CAN right turn light switch - switch error

Issue description

The control module is detecting that the turn signal stalk is sending an erratic, missing, or stuck signal over the CAN (Controller Area Network) bus when the turn signal is engaged.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Puma AFS Connect
  • Steiger AFS Connect

Check the cause

  1. Check the turn signal stalk on the steering column for physical damage, looseness, or a lack of mechanical 'click' when pushed into the right-turn position.

  2. Test the opposite turn signal and the 4-way hazard lights. If the hazards and opposite signal work perfectly, the issue is isolated to the right-turn contact inside the switch.

  3. Remove the steering column shroud and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the switch for loose pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.

  4. Verify that the CAN High and CAN Low communication lines between the steering column switch and the BCM have good continuity and are not shorted to ground.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or CAN bus spikes.

  2. Remove Steering Column Covers

Remove the screws securing the upper and lower plastic shrouds surrounding the steering column.

  3. Disconnect the Switch

Locate the turn signal/multifunction switch assembly on the column. Carefully unplug the CAN/electrical wiring harness connector from the switch.

  4. Remove the Faulty Switch

Remove the mounting screws or retaining clips holding the switch assembly to the steering column housing and slide the switch out.

  5. Install the New Part

Slide the new turn signal switch into place and secure it with the mounting hardware.

  6. Reassemble

Reconnect the wiring harness, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place. Reinstall the steering column shrouds (and the steering wheel, if removed).

  7. Test and Clear

Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, and test the right turn signal. The BCM should recognize the correct CAN signal, and the 2369-07 fault code should move from 'Active' to 'Stored/Inactive' (or clear entirely).
