Case IH 2374 – Universal Control Module (UCM): Creeper Calibration Error

Issue description

The system was unable to successfully calibrate the creeper gear's engaged and disengaged positions, or the calibration values are out of the expected range.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Check that the tractor battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply. If an external power supply is connected, disconnect it and test the system for normal operation.

  2. Inspect the creeper synchronizer and its linkage for physical damage or binding.

  3. Check the creeper adjustment and ensure the end-of-range bolts are properly adjusted.

Repair steps

  1. Adjust End-of-Range Bolts

Adjust the end-of-range bolts on the creeper linkage.

  2. Perform Creeper Calibration

Ensure the tractor is stationary and the clutch pedal is fully released. Calibrate the creeper by engaging and then disengaging the creeper using the creeper switch.

  3. Repair Mechanical Faults

If the calibration fails and mechanical inspection revealed damage, repair or replace the creeper synchronizer or its linkage as required.

  4. Replace Potentiometer

If the mechanical components are okay but the calibration still fails, remove and replace the creeper potentiometer.

  5. Replace UCM

If the fault recurs after all mechanical fixes, potentiometer replacement, and recalibration attempts, remove and replace the Universal Control Module (UCM).
