Case IH 2380 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU) or Central Control Unit (CCU): Parklock – unable to reach desired position
Issue description
The electronic park lock (EPL) mechanism—which mechanically locks the transmission/drivetrain when the tractor is parked—has failed to fully engage or disengage into the commanded position.

Check the cause
Clear the error code using the on-board menu or diagnostic equipment, cycle the ignition OFF for 5 seconds then ON, and retest.
Check if the tractor battery is connected to an external power supply (like a jump box or charger), which can cause voltage irregularities; disconnect and retest.
Check the specific fuses for the park lock circuit to ensure they are not blown.
Inspect the Electronic Park Lock (EPL) connectors (e.g., connector X-745) to ensure they are fully seated, free of corrosion, and undamaged.
Test the park lock solenoid resistance across terminal 1 and terminal 2 (should read between 8 to 11 Ohms).
Repair steps
Secure the Machine
Park the tractor on level ground and securely chock the wheels. Because you are working on the park lock mechanism, the tractor could roll if the drivetrain is freed.
Locate the Park Lock Valve Block
Depending on the model (e.g., Steiger), the park lock valve block and solenoid are often located on the right side of the machine, under the cab/battery box area.
Inspect/Replace the Solenoid
If the solenoid failed the resistance test or is mechanically sticking (slow to open/close), remove the retaining nut and slide the solenoid off the valve cartridge. Install the replacement solenoid and torque to OEM spec.
Inspect the Mechanical Actuator/Cable
The solenoid actuates a spool with a cable hooked to it (which also serves as the manual release). Ensure this cable and the park lock actuator shaft are not binding, stretched, or seized.
Check the Park Lock Switch/Sensor
If the mechanism moves freely but the CCU still doesn't recognize the position, replace the park lock position switch/sensor.
Software Update
If the wiring harness and mechanical components are okay, connect the diagnostic tool and download the latest level of software to the CCU. If the fault still recurs after a software flash, the CCU itself may require replacement.
Final Calibration
Clear all fault codes and perform a functional test of the park lock to ensure it engages and disengages properly without throwing code 2380.
