Case IH 2384 – Transmission Control Module (TCU) or Central Control Module (CCM): Shuttle park position switch voltage too low / Short circuit to earth of the 4th gear speed sensor

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the switch or sensor that is below the minimum expected threshold. This typically indicates that the signal wire is shorted directly to the chassis ground, there is a broken wire/open circuit in the harness, or the internal circuitry of the shuttle park position switch (or speed sensor) has failed.

   Ensure the electrical connectors at the switch/sensor and the ECU are connected, not damaged, and that the pins are in the correct position with a tight fit.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the shuttle park position switch and the CCM/ECU for physical damage, chafing, or melted insulation that could cause a short to ground.

   Disconnect the sensor and use a multimeter to check for continuity or a short to ground in the signal circuit.

   If the wiring harness is in good condition, there is no short in the wiring, and the switch is mounted properly, verify if the switch/sensor itself is defective.

   Power down the tractor

   Power down the tractor, shift the gearbox to neutral/park, and turn the ignition off.

   Locate the switch

   Locate the shuttle park position switch (or 4th shaft speed sensor) on the CCM HD CVT transmission housing.

   Disconnect the connector

   Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.

   Inspect the connector

   Inspect the connector for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-back pins. Repair or replace the connector pigtail if required.

   Remove the defective switch

   If the connector and wiring are intact, unbolt or unthread the defective switch from its mounting position.

   Install the new switch

   Install the new replacement switch, ensuring it is mounted properly and seated securely.

   Reconnect the harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.

   Clear fault codes

   Turn the key on and use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) or diagnostic scanner to clear the fault codes.

   Verify operation

   Operate the shuttle lever and verify that the fault code is no longer present and the machine returns to proper operation.
