Case IH 24 – Electronic Draft Control (EDC) / Electronic Hitch Control (EHR): Perform Hydraulic Lift Calibration

   Verify that the EDC valve, microprocessor, or lift arm potentiometer is fully plugged in. If a new lift arm potentiometer was fitted, induce code 24 by disconnecting the potentiometer with the key ON, turning the key off, and reconnecting it.

   Ensure the hydraulic oil is warm and at operating temperature.

   Mount a suitable implement or weight on the hydraulic lift (3-point hitch) heavy enough to overcome mechanical friction so the lift arms can lower without binding.

   Ensure the tractor is parked, all electrical/hydraulic services are deselected, all EDC controls are turned fully clockwise, and the raise/work switch is in the WORK position.

   Start the engine

   Start the engine. Error code 24 will be displayed or stored in the memory, indicating the EDC requires calibration.

   Set engine speed

   Set the engine speed to 1500 RPM.

   Cycle lift position control knob

   Rotate the lift position control knob fully anti-clockwise, and then fully clockwise.

   Wait for pump pressure

   Maximum pump pressure will be applied for approximately 2 seconds as the pressure relief valve operates.

   Allow hitch to cycle

   The hitch will cycle to learn its upper and lower limits. Do not move the tractor during this process, as tractor movement or low engine RPM will abort the calibration.

   Verify code clears

   Once the hitch has finished cycling and the parameters are stored, the fault code will clear.
