Case IH 2419 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU) / Multicontroller ECU: Reactivity switch disagreement

The control module is receiving an implausible, contradictory, or out-of-range electrical signal from the reactivity switch, which controls the aggressiveness of the Power Shuttle transmission when changing directions.

   Visually inspect the Power Shuttle reactivity switch for physical damage or sticking toggles

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the back of the switch for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion

   Test continuity across the switch terminals in all three positions (Low, Central, High) using a multimeter to check for internal shorts

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to monitor the live input state of the reactivity switch

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the trim panel or console cover where the reactivity switch is mounted.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the back of the reactivity switch.

   Remove

   Depress the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch body and push it out through the front of the mounting bezel.

   Install

   Snap the new OEM reactivity switch into the console panel.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the switch, ensuring the connector clicks and locks into place.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the console trim panels and reconnect the battery.

   Clear & Test

   Turn the ignition on, clear the inactive 2419 fault code using the onboard diagnostic menu or EST, and test the tractor's forward/reverse shuttle response in all three switch positions to verify the repair.
