Case IH 2426-07 - UCM – UCM: Auto depth control position feedback deviation

Indicates a mismatch between the commanded depth/position of the implement and the actual position reported back to the computer. The sensor's voltage signal is outside the expected range for the commanded position, indicating the hitch is not moving as requested, the sensor is reading incorrectly, or the linkage is loose.

   Visually inspect the hitch position sensor and physical linkage for bends, breaks, or heavy mud and debris buildup.

   Verify that the position or control potentiometers are not physically loose on their mounting brackets.

   Disconnect the position sensor connector to check for moisture or corrosion, and test the wiring harness for continuity, shorts to ground, or voltage drops.

   If the sensor and wiring are intact, check the hydraulic valve for contaminants that might be preventing the spool from opening (indicating the hitch is physically failing to move).

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the rear hitch linkage area around the position sensor to prevent dirt from entering the electrical connections.

   Secure or Replace the Sensor

   If the sensor linkage is loose, tighten the mounting hardware. If the sensor is damaged or fails electrical testing, remove the mounting bolts, disconnect the wiring harness, and install a new position sensor.

   Address Hydraulic Issues

   If the sensor is working but the hitch is not moving to the commanded depth, inspect and clean the hitch lift/lower hydraulic valve spools to remove any contaminants.

   Recalibrate the Hitch

   After replacing the sensor or adjusting the linkage, you must perform a hitch calibration procedure via the tractor's instrumentation display. Note: Hitch system problems that exist at startup will prevent entry into calibration mode, and faults during the process will cause calibration to stop.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the pending or permanent fault codes from the UCM using a diagnostic tool or the in-cab display.
