Case IH 2454 (519287.12) - DEC – Engine Control Module (ECM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Differential Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Low
Issue description
The voltage signal sent from the DPF pressure sensor to the engine computer has dropped below the expected threshold (typically reading between 0V and 0.5V). A low circuit input usually points to a short to ground, damaged wiring, or a failed sensor.

Check the cause
Use a diagnostic tool to confirm the code and check for related codes (such as P2452 or P2453) to isolate the issue to the DPF sensor circuit
Inspect the DPF pressure sensor wiring harness and connectors for corrosion, loose pins, or wire chafing (which can cause a short to ground)
Inspect the tubes/hoses connecting the DPF to the pressure sensor for clogs, soot buildup, or physical damage
Ensure the battery voltage is between 8 - 16 V
Using a multimeter, check the sensor connector to verify the ECM is supplying a 5V reference voltage and that the signal wire is not shorted to ground

Repair Wiring
If the visual inspection or multimeter test reveals a short to ground or broken wire, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness or replace the corroded connector.
Clear/Replace Hoses
If the DPF pressure sensor hoses are choked with soot or cracked, clean them out or replace them entirely.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring, voltage supply, and hoses are all in good condition but the sensor output voltage remains too low, the sensor has failed internally. Replace the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor.
ECM Replacement (Rare)
If the sensor and circuit are perfectly intact but the code persists, the Engine Control Module (ECM) may have an internal fault. This requires replacing and reprogramming the ECM.
Clear Codes and Test
Clear the fault codes using your diagnostic scanner and run the machine to ensure the DPF can successfully perform its regeneration routine.
