Case IH 2466 - UCM – UCM: Shuttle lever C1 switch voltage too high

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the shuttle lever (Forward/Neutral/Reverse or FNRP pod) switch that is above the permissible operating range. The switch input circuit is likely shorted to a 12-volt power source (B+), shorted to the 5-volt reference line, or the internal switch/potentiometer has failed open.

   Cycle the shuttle lever back and forth to see if it frees up physically stuck internal switches.

   Inspect the shuttle lever on the steering column (or armrest) for physical damage, stiffness, or debris.

   Inspect the wiring harness running down the steering column from the shuttle lever to the UCM for chafed wires that could be shorting the switch signal wire to a 12V power wire.

   Disconnect the shuttle lever connector, turn the key ON, and measure the reference voltage pin from the UCM to ensure it is exactly 5.0V (if 12V, the harness is shorted to battery power).

   Test the switch itself with a multimeter to ensure resistance changes smoothly (or continuity switches cleanly) when moving between Forward, Neutral, and Reverse.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the plastic shrouds/covers around the steering column (or the armrest console, depending on the model's lever location) to expose the base of the shuttle lever.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Unplug the multi-pole electrical connector from the shuttle lever assembly.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the shuttle lever assembly to the steering column bracket and pull the unit free.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the replacement shuttle lever assembly and secure the fasteners.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in and reinstall the steering column covers.

   Clear Codes & Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Use the tractor's H-Menu (diagnostic menu) or a dealer service tool to clear the UCM fault codes.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor, depress the clutch, and test the Forward and Reverse engagement to ensure the UCM recognizes the new switch inputs.
