Case IH 2467 - UCM – UCM: Shuttle lever C1 switch voltage too low
Issue description
The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the Shuttle Lever's "C1" switch circuit that has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold (typically near 0 volts). This indicates a short to ground in the signal wire, an open circuit, or an internal failure of the C1 switch.

Check the cause
Use on-board diagnostics to monitor the live state of the shuttle lever switches while moving the lever through Forward, Neutral, and Reverse.
Disconnect the shuttle lever connector at the steering column and verify that the 5V reference voltage and ground are present at the harness side.
Perform a switch continuity test on the shuttle lever side with the tractor OFF to check if the C1 switch shows an open circuit when it should be closed.
Test the C1 signal wire between the shuttle lever connector and the UCM connector for a short to ground (continuity to chassis).
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the machine on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery ground cable.
Access the Switch
Remove the plastic shrouds/covers around the steering column to expose the base of the shuttle lever (FNRP pod).
Disconnect & Inspect
Unplug the electrical connector from the shuttle lever assembly. Check both sides of the connector for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
Execute Repair
If the diagnostic tests proved the switch is internally faulty: Remove the mounting screws holding the shuttle lever assembly to the column and install a new OEM shuttle lever. If the switch tested good but the harness was shorted to ground: Trace the wiring down the steering column to the UCM. Locate the chafed wire (often where the harness bends when the steering wheel is tilted) and repair it using heat-shrink butt connectors.
Reassembly
Reconnect the harness, reinstall the steering column covers, and reconnect the battery.
Clear and Test
Turn the key ON, clear the stored fault codes in the UCM, and cycle the shuttle lever to ensure the code does not return and the transmission engages properly.
Parts you might need
(1)Forward/Reverse Shuttle Lever Assembly
84161111Also known as the FNRP Pod or Power Shuttle Switch. The internal microswitches (like C1) are sealed and cannot be serviced individually. If the switch fails, the entire shuttle lever stalk assembly must be replaced.
