Case IH 2493 (123.15) - DEC – DEC: Clutch A pressure sensor is stuck

The system is detecting that the Clutch A pressure sensor's output voltage is stuck at a constant value and is not changing as the clutch engages or disengages, which can result in jerky shifts, warning lights, or a loss of drive.

   Check the transmission oil level, as low fluid can cause actual pressure problems that trigger the code.

   Inspect the transmission filters to ensure they are not restricted or plugged, as the system is highly sensitive to hydraulic flow restrictions.

   Locate the Clutch A Pressure Sensor connector (X546) on the right-hand side of the transmission and inspect the sealed multi-pin weather-pack connector for moisture, dirt, or corrosion.

   Verify the wiring harness for shorts or open circuits. Test Pin A (Black/White wire 60) for Sensor Ground, Pin B (Green wire 7525) for 5V Supply, and Pin C (Orange wire 7775) for the Clutch Pressure Signal, which should fluctuate between 0.5V and 4.5V.

   Park tractor

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.

   Locate sensor

   Locate the Clutch A pressure sensor on the right-hand side of the transmission housing.

   Disconnect connector

   Carefully disconnect the electrical connector (X546) from the sensor.

   Remove faulty sensor

   Unscrew the faulty pressure switch from the transmission block. Have a rag ready, as a small amount of transmission fluid may leak.

   Install new sensor

   Thread in the new pressure sensor. Ensure proper sealant is used on the threads if it is not pre-applied to the new OEM part.

   Reconnect connector

   Reconnect the electrical connection, ensuring the weather-pack seal is seated correctly to keep out moisture and field dirt.

   Check fluid level

   Check the transmission oil level and top off if any fluid was lost during the swap.

   Test operation

   Start the tractor and test the warning light operation and transmission engagement to ensure the code has cleared and the tractor shifts smoothly.
