Issue description

A 'Clutch B pressure sensor stuck' condition indicates that the transmission control system is receiving a signal from the Clutch B pressure sensor that is out of its expected range, stuck at a specific voltage (often near the 5V reference or ground), or inconsistent with the commanded solenoid current. This typically points to an internal short or failure within the pressure sensor itself, a wiring harness issue, or a mechanical hydraulic fault.

Check the cause

  1. Read stored freeze-frame data and live PIDs with a diagnostic scan tool. Note the sensor voltage/value when the code was set.

  2. Inspect the sensor connector (e.g., connector X547) and the wiring harness for chafing, melted wires, corrosion, or loose pins.

  3. Backprobe the sensor connector with the key ON, engine OFF. Verify the 5V reference (often a Green wire, e.g., GN 7525), the sensor ground (often a Black/White wire, e.g., BK/WH 60), and the signal wire (often a Pink wire, e.g., PK 7785).

  4. Check the transmission fluid level and condition. Look for contamination or metal debris that could cause a valve to stick.

Repair steps

  1. Test the Sensor

    If the wiring, 5V reference, and ground test good, remove the Clutch B pressure sensor and bench-test it (or temporarily swap it with a known-good sensor).

  2. Replace if Faulty

    If the sensor is internally shorted or stuck, replace it with a new OEM sensor.

  3. Hydraulic Inspection

    If the sensor and wiring test good but the pressure PID remains inconsistent, inspect the hydraulic components. Check the hoses, fittings, valves, and the Clutch B solenoid for leaks or blockages.

  4. Mechanical Pressure Test

    Measure the actual hydraulic pressure at the Clutch B pressure control union with an independent mechanical gauge to verify if the valve is physically stuck open.

  5. Recalibrate

    After replacing the sensor or repairing the hydraulic circuit, clear the fault codes and perform a transmission calibration procedure to ensure proper clutch engagement.
