Case IH 2506 – Transmission Control Module (TCM) / Central Control Unit (CCU): Clutch B pressure not plausible (mismatch between clutch B pressure and solenoid current)

This code triggers when the control unit detects that the hydraulic pressure in transmission Clutch B does not align with the electrical current being sent to the Clutch B solenoid. The underlying condition is typically an electrical fault (wiring or solenoid resistance), a hydraulic issue (dump valve problem), or a mechanical problem on the driveline.

   Check for concurrent codes: If any other error codes are displayed alongside 2506, troubleshoot those codes first.

   Inspect Connectors: Locate and check the Clutch B solenoid connector (X-528) and the dump solenoid connector (X-545). Ensure they are firmly connected, undamaged, and pins are tight.

   Test Solenoid Resistance: Disconnect the Clutch B solenoid connector (X-528) and measure resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2. It must be between 8 and 11 Ohms.

   Check Wiring Harness: If the solenoid tests within spec, check the wiring harness back to the CCU for an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to positive voltage.

   Perform the diagnostic resistance test on the Clutch B solenoid.

   If the multimeter reads outside of the 8 - 11 Ohms range, the solenoid has failed internally.

   Clean the area around the transmission valve block to prevent debris from entering the hydraulic system.
