Case IH 2543 – UCM / CCU: B clutch pressure transducer – short circuit to 5V

The control module is receiving a continuous maximum voltage signal (5 volts) from the B clutch pressure sensor. This condition typically points to a short in the sensor's wiring harness, a damaged connector, or an internal short within the transducer itself.

   Inspect the connector at the B clutch pressure transducer for moisture, corrosion, or damaged/pushed-out pins

   Probe the wiring harness between the transducer and the UCM/CCU to check for a short circuit to the 5V reference wire

   If the wiring and connector test fine, check if the B clutch pressure transducer has failed internally

   Locate transducer

   Locate the B clutch pressure transducer on the transmission control valve manifold.

   Inspect terminals

   Disconnect the wiring harness from the transducer and inspect the terminals.

   Test circuit and repair wiring

   Test the circuit. If a short circuit to 5V is indicated in the wiring, repair or replace the affected section of the wire harness as required.

   Replace transducer

   If the wiring harness is intact, remove and replace the faulty B clutch pressure transducer.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the harness and turn the ignition on.

   Clear error code

   Access the UCM/CCU via the tractor's monitor or diagnostic tool and clear the stored error code.

   Test system

   Start the tractor, warm the transmission oil, and test the system for normal operation to ensure the code does not return.
