Case IH 2554 – UCM (Unit Control Module): Transmission oil pressure above maximum boost pressure.
Issue description
The system is detecting that the hydraulic pressure within the transmission circuit has exceeded the maximum allowable threshold. The primary failure modes for this condition are a faulty transmission oil pressure sensor, a faulty hydraulic circuit (such as a stuck valve), or failing clutch solenoids.

Check the cause
Check if the tractor battery has been connected to an external power supply (like a jump starter or high-output charger). If an external power supply is connected, disconnect it, clear the code, and test the system for normal operation.
Ensure the tractor's battery voltage is within the normal operating range.
Disconnect the medium range clutch solenoid. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2. The resistance should be between 8 to 11 Ohms.
Disconnect the high range clutch solenoid. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2. The resistance should also be between 8 to 11 Ohms.
Verify whether the transmission oil pressure sensor (which can be configured as a pressure switch or a pressure transducer depending on the exact model) is reading accurately or if it is shorted/stuck.

Rectify Power Issues
If battery voltage is abnormal or an external power source was used, correct the voltage supply first.
Replace Faulty Solenoids
If either the medium range or high range clutch solenoid fails the resistance test (reading outside of the 8-11 Ohms range), remove and replace the faulty solenoid.
Replace the Pressure Sensor
If the solenoids test within specification, the transmission oil pressure sensor is likely faulty and falsely reporting an over-pressure condition. Locate the sensor on the transmission valve block and replace it.
Inspect the Hydraulic Circuit
If the sensor and solenoids are functioning correctly, inspect the transmission hydraulic circuit for mechanical blockages or a stuck bypass/relief valve causing a genuine over-pressure situation.
Clear Codes and Calibrate
Once the faulty component has been replaced, use the tractor's diagnostic menu or the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the error code.
Test Operation
Test the system for normal operation. If a clutch solenoid was replaced, perform a transmission/clutch calibration routine to ensure smooth gear engagement.
