2570 (517958.07) - DEC

Case IH 2570 (517958.07) - DEC – UCM (Universal Control Module): Gear pump (hydro filter) - pressure on filter too high

Issue description

This code indicates that the pressure sensor located at the hydraulic charge filter (hydro filter) is reading a pressure value that exceeds the maximum allowable threshold. This is typically caused by a restriction in the hydraulic circuit, a plugged filter, or an electrical fault.

Applies to these machines

  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Puma 165 CVX / CVT
  • Puma 180 CVX / CVT
  • Puma 195 CVX / CVT
  • Puma 210 CVX / CVT
  • Puma 225 CVX / CVT
  • T7.175 AutoCommand NA
  • T7.190 AutoCommand NA
  • T7.210 AutoCommand NA
  • T7.225 AutoCommand NA

Check the cause

  1. Check for other active error codes (especially 2573 or 2574 related to the hydro filter pressure sensor) and diagnose those first

  2. Verify that the tractor battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (like a jump starter)

  3. Start the engine, run at 2000 rev/min, and check the battery voltage on the instrument cluster to ensure the charging system is not over-voltaging the sensors

  4. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the hydro filter pressure sensor for shorts or open circuits

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Electrical/Voltage Issues

Complete the diagnostic checks above. If voltage is irregular, repair the charging system or harness.

  2. Inspect and Replace the Hydro Filter

Drain the fluid, inspect for water/debris, and replace the hydraulic/transmission oil filter.

  3. Test the Pressure Sensor

If the filter is clean but the code persists, test the hydro filter pressure sensor (charge pressure sensor). If it is internally shorted, it will send a falsely high reading to the UCM. Replace if faulty.

  4. Clear Codes and Retest

Once the mechanical or electrical fault is rectified, use the tractor's diagnostic menu to clear the error code and test the hydraulic system for normal operation.

  5. Software/Module Update

If the fault is still present after replacing the filter and sensor, download the correct level of software to the UCM.

  6. Replace UCM

If the fault recurs after a software update and all physical checks pass, remove and replace the UCM.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Hydraulic / Transmission Oil Filter (Hydro Filter)

    47477558

Older models may use 69878C91 or 47393888

  • Hydro Filter Pressure Sensor / Charge Pressure Sensor

Specific OEM part number requires a VIN lookup, but it connects to the harness at the X-474 Hydro Filter connector

  • Universal Control Module (UCM) / Central Control Unit
