Case IH 2571 (519167.04) - DEC – UCM (Universal Control Module) or CCU (Central Control Unit): Hydro Gport Pressure Sensor - Open Circuit Or Short Circuit To Ground
Issue description
The control module has detected that the signal voltage from the Hydro Gport pressure sensor (also known as the charge pressure sensor hydrostat) has dropped below the acceptable threshold, indicating either a broken wire (open circuit) or a wire that is shorted directly to the ground.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- VESTRUM CVX
- Case IH Puma series
- Case IH Maxxum series
- Case IH Magnum series
- Case IH MX / TG series
Check the cause
Visually inspect the hydro Gport pressure sensor (charge pressure sensor hydrostat) connector X-916 and the UCM connector X-955.
Check connector integrity to ensure they are fully seated, not damaged, pins are in the correct position, and the fit is tight. Repair or replace the connector/pins as required.
Disconnect connector X-916 at the sensor and check the harness for a +5 Volt reference signal coming from the UCM.
Test the signal and ground wires for continuity back to the UCM and check for a short circuit to ground. Repair or replace the wire harness as required.
Repair steps
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery
to protect the electronic systems.
Locate the Hydro Gport pressure sensor (charge pressure sensor hydrostat)
on the transmission valve block / C3/C4 manifold.
Disconnect the X-916 wiring harness connector
from the sensor.
Remove the faulty sensor from the manifold
If the diagnostic checks above confirmed that the wiring harness and +5V reference are intact (meaning the fault is internal to the sensor).
Install the new pressure sensor
Ensure the O-ring is properly seated and lubricated with the correct transmission fluid (e.g., Akcela Nexplore) prior to reassembly.
Reconnect the X-916 connector
Clear the stored error codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key start switch ON, and use the diagnostic menu (H Menu) or a diagnostic tool to clear the stored error codes from the EEPROM.
Start the tractor and verify
that the fault code does not return and that transmission charge pressures read normally.
