Case IH 2572 – UCM or CCU: Hydro Gport pressure sensor - short circuit to 5V
Issue description
The control module is receiving an abnormally high voltage signal from the hydrostatic G-port pressure sensor (charge pressure sensor), specifically detecting that the sensor's signal circuit is shorted to the 5-volt reference line.

Check the cause
Inspect the hydro Gport pressure sensor connector (e.g., connector X-916) and the UCM/CCU connector (e.g., X-955)
Ensure the connectors are fully seated, not damaged, the pins are in the correct position, and the terminal fit is tight
Disconnect the sensor connector and use a multimeter to check the reference circuit for +5 Volts
Test the wiring harness between the sensor and the UCM for a short circuit to the 5V supply line
Repair steps
Clean, repair, or replace connector terminals
If the visual inspection reveals a faulty connector, damaged pins, or moisture intrusion at either the sensor or the UCM, clean, repair, or replace the connector terminals as required.
Repair or replace wiring harness
If multimeter testing indicates a short circuit to 5V within the wiring harness, locate the chafed or melted section of the harness. Repair the damaged wires or replace the affected harness section.
Replace hydro Gport pressure sensor
If the connectors and wiring harness test perfectly fine, the hydro Gport pressure sensor itself has likely failed internally (shorted) and must be replaced.
Clear stored error codes
After the physical repair is complete, access the tractor's diagnostic menu (e.g., the 'HC' menu on Puma models) or use the electronic service tool to clear the stored error codes from the EEPROM.
Test hydrostatic/transmission system
Test the hydrostatic/transmission system for normal operation to ensure the code does not return.
