Case IH 2590 (519166.15) - DEC – DEC: Forward Clutch Pressure Sensor Signal higher than expected.

The control module is receiving a voltage or pressure reading from the forward clutch pressure sensor that exceeds the maximum expected threshold for normal operation.

   Verify the sensor supply voltage (typically a 5V reference) to the forward clutch pressure sensor.

   Inspect the wiring harness for a short circuit to a high voltage source.

   Check for an open circuit in the sensor ground or signal return wire.

   Verify the actual hydraulic pressure in the forward clutch circuit to ensure the transmission is not mechanically over-pressurizing the clutch pack.

   Locate sensor

   Locate the forward clutch pressure sensor on the transmission housing or control valve block.

   Inspect connector

   Disconnect the sensor harness connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage.

   Test wiring

   Test the wiring harness for continuity, proper ground, and ensure there are no shorts to power.

   Replace sensor

   If the wiring is intact and the supply/ground voltages are correct, the sensor itself has likely failed internally and must be replaced.

   Install and calibrate

   Install the new sensor, clear the fault code from the control module, and perform any necessary transmission/clutch calibrations required by the system.
