It is an informational flag generated by the system to notify the technician that a historical (inactive) fault is still residing in the module's memory. The underlying condition that originally triggered the fault has either been physically repaired or the intermittent condition is no longer present.

Verify System Operation: Engage the PTO and cycle the Forward/Neutral/Reverse (F/N/R) switch to ensure the tractor operates normally under load.
Check Indicator Lights: Verify that the PTO indicator lamp on the dash illuminates when the PTO is engaged.
Check for Active Codes: Ensure there are no other active codes (such as Code 22 or 23, which indicate active switch circuit faults) overriding the system.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the tractor's diagnostic port (usually located in the fuse box area under the armrest).
Access the Module
Navigate to the PTO/Transmission controller in the software.
Clear the Memory
Select the option to "Erase Error Code" / "Clear Stored Faults".
Hard Reset
Turn the tractor key to the OFF position. Wait 10–15 seconds for the ECU to power down completely and save the cleared state.
Verify
Turn the key back to the ON position. Cycle the PTO switch from ON to OFF to ON. Verify that the code does not return and that the dash indicator lights function properly.
