Case IH 2601 – Electronic System / Cab Controller: Pressure motor blower fault

Electrical fault within the blower motor circuit. The control module has detected an anomaly—typically an open circuit, a short circuit to ground, a short to power (+12V/+5V), or an out-of-range current draw when the blower motor is commanded to operate.

   Verify the condition of the blower motor fuse and the HVAC/blower relay in the main fuse panel

   Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the cab controller/switch to the blower motor for chafed wires, pinched lines, or loose/corroded connector pins

   Disconnect the blower motor, turn the key ON, command the blower on, and use a multimeter to verify the connector receives 12V supply voltage and has a solid path to ground

   Check the internal resistance of the blower motor; an open reading or dead short indicates a burned-out motor winding

   Test the blower motor resistor and the multi-speed control switch on the console if the blower only works on certain speeds

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the battery disconnect switch or disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Blower Assembly

   Depending on the exact cab configuration, access the HVAC blower motor (typically located under the cab roof canopy or behind the rear cab panel). Remove the necessary trim panels or roof bolts to expose the HVAC housing.

   Disconnect Electrical Connections

   Unplug the main wiring harness connector from the blower motor.

   Remove the Motor

   Remove the mounting screws or retaining clips securing the blower motor and fan wheel assembly to the housing.

   Install the New Motor

   Insert the replacement blower motor assembly into the housing. Secure it with the original mounting hardware.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical plug. Reinstall all cab trim panels, covers, or roof components.

   Test Operation

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition ON and test the blower motor through all speed settings to ensure proper airflow and no unusual noises.

   Clear Fault Codes

   Access the tractor's 'H Menu' (Diagnostic Menu) via the A-Post display or use a CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the stored 2601 fault code from the EEPROM.
